Permanent Residence Cap Opens May 1, 2014 for 50 Occupations #immigrationcap2014

Starting on May 1, 2014, the Canadian Government has announced a new cap of 25,000 applications, which includes a sub-cap of 1,000 applications for each of the 50 eligible occupations.  Applicants may qualify for immigration to Canada, if they have work experience in one of the eligible occupations.

Eligible occupations include: Senior managers – financial, communications and other business services; Senior managers – trade, broadcasting and other services, n.e.c.; Financial managers; Human resources managers; Purchasing managers; Insurance, real estate and financial brokerage managers; Managers in health care; Construction managers; Home building and renovation managers; Managers in natural resources production and fishing; Manufacturing managers; Financial auditors and accountants; Financial and investment analysts; Securities agents, investment dealers and brokers; Other financial officers; Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations; Supervisors, finance and insurance office workers; Property administrators; Geoscientists and oceanographers; Civil engineers; Mechanical engineers; Electrical and electronics engineers; Petroleum engineers; Information systems analysts and consultants; Database analysts and data administrators; Software engineers and designers; Computer programmers and interactive media developers; Mechanical engineering technologists and technicians; Construction estimators; Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians; Industrial instrument technicians and mechanics; Inspectors in public and environmental health and occupational health and safety; Computer network technicians; Nursing co-ordinators and supervisors; Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses; Specialist physicians; General practitioners and family physicians; Dietitians and nutritionists; Audiologists and speech-language pathologists; Physiotherapists; Occupational therapists; Respiratory therapists, clinical perfusionists and cardiopulmonary technologists; Medical radiation technologists; Medical sonographers; Licensed practical nurses; Paramedical occupations; University professors and lecturers; Psychologists; Early childhood educators and assistants; and Translators, terminologists and interpreters.

We are also conducting an Immigration Cap Consultation Clinic for Skilled Trades Professionals, which has an overall cap of 5,000 application for  90 skilled trades from the following NOC Skill Level B groups (with sub-caps of 100 applications each): Industrial, electrical and construction trades; Maintenance and equipment operation trades; Supervisors and technical occupations in national resources, agriculture and related production; Processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators; chefs and cooks; and butchers and bakers.

New caps for CEC (with a cap of 8,000 and 200 per occupation) and the PHD (with a cap of 500) eligibility streams commence on May 1, 2014
