Express Entry Update: First Canadian Experience Class Draw since February 13th 2021

On March 18th 2021, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued a new round of invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system.

Today’s draw invited candidates who qualify for selection under the Canadian Experience Class. The minimum score selected was 449, and 5,000 candidates were invited to apply.

This is the first Canadian Experience Class draw we have seen since the February 13th 2021 draw, in which an unprecedented 27,332 candidates were invited to apply. With 5,000 candidates invited in today’s draw, we see IRCC returning to the standard number of invitations issued. Should draws of this size for Canadian Experience Class candidates resume on a bi-weekly basis, we expect scores to decrease from today’s cut off-of 449.

This week’s Express Entry draws continued to exclude candidates under the Federal Skilled Worker program, focusing only on Canadian Experience Class candidates and Provincial Nominees.
