Express Entry Draw Target Trade and Healthcare Occupations

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently issued three new rounds of invitations to apply to Express Entry.

On July 02, 2024, IRCC issued a round of invitations to candidates who qualify for selection under the Provincial Nominee Class. The minimum score selected was 739, and 920 candidates were invited to apply. To qualify for selection under the Provincial Nominee Class, candidates must have received a nomination certificate from a Canadian province or territory.

On July 04, 2024, IRCC issued a round of category-based selection invitations to candidates with work experience in selected trade occupations. Selected occupations included electricians, plumbers, carpenters, machine fitters, and welders, among others. This draw invited 1,800 candidates to apply, and the minimum score required for selection was 436 points.

On July 05, 2024, IRCC issued a round of category-based selection invitations to candidates with work experience in selected health care occupations. Selected occupations included physicians, nurses, medical laboratory technologists, dieticians, kinesiologists, and occupational therapists, among others. This draw invited 3,750 candidates to apply, and the minimum score required for selection was 445 points.

On July 08, 2024, IRCC issued a round of category-based selection invitations to candidates with French language proficiency. This draw invited 3,200 candidates to apply, and the minimum score required for selection was 420 points. In order to be invited, candidates must have achieved French language proficiency scores of Canadian Benchmark 7 or higher in every category.

In addition to professionals in the trades and healthcare, IRCC continues to target STEM occupations, transport, agriculture/agri-food occupations and French-speaking candidates in category-specific draws.
