IRCC Implements Fee Increases Effective December 1, 2024

As highlighted in our previous article of November 25, 2024, the announced immigration fee increases for specific inadmissibility applications took effect on December 1, 2024. The adjustments apply to the following categories:

• Restoration of temporary resident status (for visitors, students, and workers) increased to $239.75.
• Temporary Resident Permits increased to $239.75.
• Authorization to Return to Canada increased to $479.75.
• Inadmissible on ground of criminality increased to $239.75.
• Inadmissible on the grounds of serious criminality increased to $1,199.00.
• In addition, the immigration fee for the International Experience Class was also increased to $179.75.

Importantly, these fee changes do not affect online applications submitted or paper applications mailed prior to December 1, 2024. Applicants are encouraged to review the new fee schedule and plan accordingly.
