Express Entry: Recent Invitations Reflect Canada’s Strategic Focus
The final month of 2024 has seen significant activity in Canada’s Express Entry system, with targeted draws reflecting the government’s strategic priorities for permanent residency admissions.
- December 3, 2024 – French Language Proficiency Draw:
IRCC issued 800 invitations in a category-based selection draw for candidates with strong French language skills. The minimum CRS score required was 466. - December 2, 2024 – Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Draw:
A total of 676 invitations were issued to PNP candidates in the Express Entry pool, requiring a minimum CRS score of 705.
Looking ahead, both categories are expected to see increased invitations in 2025. IRCC has emphasized that boosting allocations for French-speaking and PNP candidates aligns with its broader immigration goals, including addressing labor market needs and fostering regional growth.
