New Permanent Residence Pathway for Ukrainians with Canadian Family Members

On July 15, 2023, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration announced a new pathway to permanent residence for Ukrainian nationals.

To qualify, a Ukrainian national must be living in Canada with valid temporary resident status. They must have one or more family members in Canada who are either Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Eligible family members include spouses, common-law partners, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, or grandchildren.

This program will not be subject to a financial undertaking and will not impact in the number of spaces available through the regular Parent and Grandparent sponsorship program. IIRCC has indicated that this new program will be open to intake for one year, beginning October 23, 2023.
