IRCC Resumes Express Entry Draws After November Pause

On December 06, 2023, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued another round of invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system. This week’s draw invited 4,750 candidates to apply. The minimum score required for selection was 561 points. Invitations were issued to candidates under all Express Entry program categories, and in all occupations.

On December 07, 2023, IRCC issued a round of invitations to candidates with French language proficiency. This draw invited 1,000 candidates to apply. The minimum score required for selection was 470 points. Invitations were issued to candidates under all Express Entry program categories, provided they had achieved the required minimum French language proficiency scores.

The cut off score required for selection in this week’s general draw rose considerably, as this was the first draw held since October 26, 2023 and the first general draw held since October 10, 2023. We expect scores to drop if draws are held at regular frequency again going into 2024.
