Since joining BARTLAW LLP in August 2011, Ms. Wright has practiced exclusively in the area of Canadian immigration and citizenship law. Prior to joining BARTLAW LLP, Ms. Wright was a Law Clerk at the Federal Court from 2009 to 2011 (including for the current Chief Justice). She has successfully represented numerous employers on Service Canada and IRCC employer compliance reviews and has provided effective defensive work on all potential non-compliance issues and is our lead on criminal admissibility and equivalency of foreign offences. Ms. Wright is responsible for a Federal Court applications for leave and judicial review and is in her second term as Newsletter Editor at the Ontario Bar Association’s Immigration Section Executive.
Ms. Wright has been published extensively since joining BARTLAW LLP and has contributed to several law books and articles, writing on topics ranging from immigration issues in merger acquisitions, habeas corpus and immigration detention, and business immigration laws. Her publications include: International Comparative Legal Guide to: Corporate Immigration (2014 and 2018 Edition), ABIL Global Business Immigration Practice Guide (2014 and 2015 Edition); Immigration and Nationality Newsletter of the UIA; Lawyer’s Daily; ABA Section of International Law: Canada Committee Year End Report; IBA Immigration and Nationality Law News; UIA Newsletter; Business Immigration Global Guide (2018 Edition); and Financier Worldwide.
